Up in the air (2009)

George Clooney, Anna Kendrick and Vera Farmiga star in this comedy/drama. Clooney is Ryan Bingham, whose job it is to fire people. Because of this he constantly has to travel around the US. He’s living in his own perfect little world. Because of a change in company policy he has to allow Natalie to enter his world.

Director Jason Reitman show that he knows how to make movies. Thank you for Smoking was amazing (gave that an 8) and Juno also is a very good movie (on which a review will follow soon). The movie shows various airport, which with the voice over by Clooney, almost are glamorous places. Efficient and wonderful places to be at.I liked the consistent use of aerial shots when traveling to the next destination. The humor is very good, with some nice cameos by J.K.Simmons and Zach Galifianakis.
Anna Kendrick plays her character as the new employee with enthusiasm and drive. She knows how to use her emotions. A scene where she starts crying in the middle of a hotel lobby is my favorite (especially Clooney’s reaction)
I’ve seen the movie twice now and i even thought it was funnier the second time. So if you are up for a nice comedy, then i can recommend Up in the Air.

Score: 9

Erm.. Comedy? Of course, it had funny bits, but for me it was DRAMA. Like Total drama. I loved the movie but its effect on me was a bit depressing. I really like the way Kendrick showed her worth. After The Twilight Saga, by the way, have you seen these films?
