With the recent release of Skyfall I thought it would be a nice moment to look at the career of Daniel Craig and the many roles he has played through the years. He was born on the second of March 1968 in Chester. When growing up he already started acting at the age of 6. He remained interested in acting and joined the National Youth Theatre when he was sixteen. He continued to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he graduated in 1991.
He appeared on stage and made his first televion appearance in The Power of One. He appeared in several TV shows and small films. His first bigger role which people noticed was that opposite of Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider where he played Alex West. He has since appeared in various big productions like Road to Perdition, Munich, Cowboys and Aliens, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Golden Compass. Of course he’s best known for being cast as the most famous British spy 007, but has appeared in over 60 productions.
I’m not going to lie, my favorite role is him as James Bond, although I thought he was good too in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
What’s your favorite Daniel Craig role?

Casino Royale, though I’m sure Skyfall might replace that soon once I see it.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it would!
Casino Royale for me as well. Great movie, great performance.
I agree Eric!
Casino royale 🙂
Another vote 🙂
I think he’s a excellent James Bond, but his part in the David Fincher production is one of the greatest that he has played in years! But that’s my opinion. I also liked his part in the crime movie Layer Cake. Brilliant! 🙂
Paul, I still have not seen Layer Cake, is it a good movie?
I think it’s brilliant 🙂
Will add it to my “To Watch” list, which is already way too long 🙂
I’ve got the same problem 🙂
Nice post! I don’t think he is the right actor for 007 but he is a good actor, so he did a decent job there. I really liked his work in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo last year.
Thanks Sati! He was excellent in that!

Think, like most people, I really took notice of Daniel Craig in Casino Royale. Amazing performance and really love his interpretation of Bond. Like Sati, thought he was fab in Dragon Tattoo too, and Road to Perdition.
I think the first film I saw him in was Tomb Raider!
I can’t remember him in Tomb Raider, but of course this happens often with actors once they become well known 🙂
Huge fan of this guy. Love him as Bond, his voice work in Tintin, Road to Perdition, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo…
Great choices Fernando, thanks for commenting!
Craig was awesome in Layer Cake and I can totally see why the guy landed the lead of Bond because he has such charm, but viciousness to him that makes you a bit scared of what the guy could do.
Yeah, he can be different things so easily…you can sense something is going on underneath the surface when he’s acting.
I’ve been a fan if Craig’s for quite a while Nostra. I remember him from a marvellous BBC tv series back in the 1990’s called “Our Friends In The North”. It also featured Christopher Eccleston and Mark Strong but it was Craig that really stood out.
Wow, you have been following for a long time then Mark!
I’m only really familiar with his latter work. Having seen Skyfall recently I thought it was his best performance in the shoes of 007.
I agree with you, but like you I have not seen much of his work….
