The Many Faces of… Daniel Craig

With the recent release of Skyfall I thought it would be a nice moment to look at the career of Daniel Craig and the many roles he has played through the years. He was born on the second of March 1968 in Chester. When growing up he already started acting at the age of 6. He remained interested in acting and joined the National Youth Theatre when he was sixteen. He continued to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he graduated in 1991.

He appeared on stage and made his first televion appearance in The Power of One. He appeared in several TV shows and small films. His first bigger role which people noticed was that opposite of Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider where he played Alex West. He has since appeared in various big productions like Road to Perdition, Munich, Cowboys and Aliens, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Golden Compass. Of course he’s best known for being cast as the most famous British spy 007, but has appeared in over 60 productions.

  1. I think he’s a excellent James Bond, but his part in the David Fincher production is one of the greatest that he has played in years! But that’s my opinion. I also liked his part in the crime movie Layer Cake. Brilliant! 🙂

  2. Nice post! I don’t think he is the right actor for 007 but he is a good actor, so he did a decent job there. I really liked his work in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo last year.

  4. Think, like most people, I really took notice of Daniel Craig in Casino Royale. Amazing performance and really love his interpretation of Bond. Like Sati, thought he was fab in Dragon Tattoo too, and Road to Perdition.

I think the first film I saw him in was Tomb Raider!

  5. Craig was awesome in Layer Cake and I can totally see why the guy landed the lead of Bond because he has such charm, but viciousness to him that makes you a bit scared of what the guy could do.

  6. I’ve been a fan if Craig’s for quite a while Nostra. I remember him from a marvellous BBC tv series back in the 1990’s called “Our Friends In The North”. It also featured Christopher Eccleston and Mark Strong but it was Craig that really stood out.
