The vicious kind is a drama/black comedy that tells the story of Caleb Sinclaire (Adam Scott). Caleb hasn’t slept in ages, which has a very obvious effect on his social skills and sense of reality.
The movie shows the relationship between Caleb and his family (his brother, his brother’s girlfiend and his father) and how strange Caleb actually is. He wants to protect his brother from his new girlfriend and goes to extremes in doing so, which results in embarrasing and painful situations. One moment he seems completely normal, the next he does something completely inappropriate after which he immediately changes again to apologise.
That this situation results in an interesting movie is no suprise. The actors in this movie are all great. Adam Scott impresses, he’s very convincing.
