In the police drama Pride and Glory, starring Edward Norton and Collin Farrel, we see the lives of various police officers in New York. Some of these are corrupt and knowing that the officers are on both sides of the law and family makes matters a bit more complicated.
This all results in a suspenseful story, that despite a big number of clichés, results in two hours of viewing pleasure. It’s a shame, especially during the first hour, that the characters don’t have enough depth to them and that the bad cops are only bad. Because i have seen this being done better in other movies and tv shows (by making them more human), i was disappointed. The last hour the tension rises and i really started to get more into it. The movie has some very violent scenes.
In the cop genre there are better movies (i liked We own the night a lot, but of course you can’t forget Training Day and the Departed), but despite that fact this is a movie that will give you one (violent) evening of entertainment.
