Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday and the OK Corral. These are names that every western fan surely knows from other movies. This movie also tells this famous story about the shootout. Is it a movie which you shouldn’t miss?
This movie appears in various “best of” movies so i really wanted to see it. It really is a movie where the story is told very slowly. When you watch it you get a feeling about life in Tombstone and the relationship between Earp and Holliday, Clementine and the other people who live there. I liked the spectacular shots that were made when the stagecoach is being driven by Holliday with high speed.
I’ll have to admit that i was disappointed after watching it. I like westerns and saw quite a lot of them, so it’s not the subject matter. I just thought it wasn’t on the same level as the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. The last 20 minutes made up for the rest of the movie, but still didn’t impress me enough to call this movie a classic. It won’t appear on any of my top lists.
