When you first see the title of this movie you would immediately think that this is a documentary about them touring, being to watch what happens behind and off stage in the lives of the members of Spinal Tap. But when you actually start watching it you’ll find out that it’s not a serious movie, but a mockumentary. The band members are interviewed and tell a lot of crazy stories (which you know can’t be true, like why they had so many different drummers and how they kept dying)
They are being followed on their American tour. They meet a lot of people (and for those that pay close attention you will see some well-known actors (like Fran Drescher and Billy Crystal)) and have ridiculous demands for their concerts. Although sometimes things don’t get done the way they want (like their Stonehenge set).
I’ll have to admit that rock really isn’t my thing and that’s probably the reason why I didn’t really enjoy the movie, although there are definitely funny moments. If you do like rock from the eighties, than this will probably be a movie which you will like and you can add some points to the score below.
