Last week I was able to interview Paul Verhoeven about his new movie and was also able to talk to him about his thoughts on remakes and his experience at the Razzies. It was great meeting him and hearing him talk about movies with so much passion. The alotted time flew by and it was a great experience. It made me think about other directors/actors/actresses I would like to interview. The first director on my mind was Quentin Tarantino, who is known for his extensive movie knowledge and of course the entertaining way he speaks. Kevin Smith would be another choice because he has so many crazy stories about the making of his films.
If you had to possibility to interview any actor/actress/director, who would you interview and why?
Quentin Tarantino… I would pick his brain to no end and then absorb all of his talent and make movies myself.
Nice one! We would need to head there together! 😉
Great question Nostra! Hmmm, I don’t know really… there are so many directors I wish I could interview. If I could go with a filmmaker who’s no longer living, I wish I could ask William Wyler on how he filmed the iconic chariot race in Ben-Hur.
Thanks Ruth and a very interesting choice. That scene is amazing so it be interesting to hear how it was shot and hear about the dangers.
Would have to be De Niro for me. Wouldnt know where to begin or what to ask him but as my idol that would be my dream interview 🙂
Yeah, he would make for a very interesting interview. Would you dare to ask him about his movie choices?
Not his latest stuff no, I’d be a nervous bumbling wreck anyway!! But I think I would just tell him how amazing he is in (insert clasic movie here) 🙂
J.J. Abrams. My first question: “How enviable do you feel right now, directing Star Wars and Star Trek?” At the end of the interview: “Well, that was fun. May the force be with you and may you live long and prosper, sir.”
Hahaha, awesome question and a very cool way to end it.
Tough question.
Ridley Scott. He has a great diversity of work, and I think he would be a good interview.
Yeah, so many choices are possible, but Scott would be awesome to interview. He has an impressive body of work and it would be great to hear him talk about his experiences.
I second Ridley Scott, since he’s still alive there’s still a possibility 😀
I would like to do an interview with David Lynch. He would be very interesting to talk to and I’d ask him some questions about his movies. Also if he was still alive I would do one with Stanley Kubrick.
That would be interesting and find out more about his work. Kubrick would be an amazing interview.
Hmmmm that is a great topic…. I wouldn’t mind interviewing Ryan Gosling cause I know he would agree to conduct the interview during a trip to Disneyland. Interviewing director Wes Anderson would be pretty epic as well.
Thanks. Gosling has been in the business for so long, so he would have a lot of interesting stuff to say. I’d like to know where he would like to be in regards to his movies in say ten years.
I’d interview Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone and my first question will be “how do you guys feel working together in TWO movies as romantically sexually partners?”
Very original question! 🙂
Tarantino is a good choice. As for Smith, i find his current personality obnoxious and annoying.
My top choice would probably be Nicole Kidman
Well, I don’t think he has changed much. I still listen to Hollywood Babble On and read his book a while ago. He knows how to tell stories.
Kidman is also an interesting actress to interview.
His whole “all critics are bad and evil and out to get me” shctick just got really annoying to me. Also i remember after he kept complaining about people criticizing Red State, and then a few weeks later on his Hulu show he criticized Rock of Ages.I unfollowed him on twitter after that, as i felt he descended into full blown hypocrisy on that one.
Kevin Smith definitely. Jan Svankmajer although I imagine that would be quite complicated. And Katharine Isabelle. Totes.
Good choices, although I’ll have to admit I had to look up the last two.
I’d interview Stanley Kubrick if he was still alive and I’d talk to him for hours on end about each and every one of his films. I’d particularly like to ask him about The Shining and whether he intended all the meanings that people have drawn from it or whether they’re just nutjobs!
I think it is best when some things remain mysterious or open for interpretation, just look at something like Blade Runner…it adds something appealing to it. It would be cool to pick his brain though about his movies if that was possible.
Great question, Nostra.
I think I would like to ask Morgan Freeman what, to him, has been his greatest accomplishment and what his favorite role that he has been in was.
and, if he could go back in time and talk to a 30yr old version of himself, what would he tell that young Morgan Freeman? (why 30yrs old? because that’s my age right now)
Well, with you TV show you might able to arrange that right? 😉 Just wait for a new movie of his and contact his agent…
Joss Whedon. He comes across as such a genuine and NICE person to interview. I usually hate the word nice, but I mean it in a good way here.
Chris Nolan too. Fan of pretty much every single one of his films. I think there’s only one I haven’t seen – his first ever one.
Nicholas Cage – why on earth he’s gone bat shit crazy.
Morgan Freeman – just because I could listen to him talk about anything and everything. Man has got a fantastic voice!
Great choices and all people I would love to interview as well!
My first choices of DeNiro and David Lynch have been taken so I’ll go with Lars von Trier. His film’s are always thought provoking and controversial and I’d like to hear his thoughts on fascist dictators 😉
Lars von Trier would be a very interesting man to interview and I probably would really have to prepare for that one!
