Carey Mulligan was born on the 28th of May 1985 in London, England. She lived in Germany from age 3 to 8. Her interest in acting began at six when she saw her brother perform in a school play. In her teens she was busy with theatre and was the student head of the drama department at woldingham School. Her ambition to act kept growing, despite her parents not being a fan of it. She secretly tried to get into drama schools, but was denied. It was actor Julian Fellowes who invited her to a dinner with aspiring actors where she met a casting agent who gave her a role in Pride and Prejudice. She still kept appearing in plays, but also was in several TV shows including Bleak House, Waking the Dead, Trial & Retribution, Doctor Who and Agatha Christie Marple: The Sittaford Mystery. Since 2009 she has been doing more movies. Some of these are An Education, Public Enemies, Brothers, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Never Let Me Go, Drive, Shme and The Great Gatsby.

I absolutely love her! She is such a talent and soooo well spoken. :)VI love her movies, one of my favourite actresses.
Yeah, I think she’s good too. She hasn’t done too many roles yet, but I think she has a bright future ahead.
Haven’t seen much of work, but she definitely excels in the ones I’ve seen her in. I should go see more of her movies.
She does indeed. Which movies have you seen her in?
I’ve seen her in An Education, Shame and Never Let Me Go. I have yet to see Drive and The Great Gatsby.
I’ve seen all of them except for An Education and The Great Gatsby (will be seeing it next week)
She’s a breath of fresh air, simply unforgettable in my all time favorite film Drive. I think Mulligan and Michelle Williams are to of the best actresses out there right now.
She is and although I am not a huge fan of Drive (sorry Chris) she was good in it. Michelle Williams is good as well!
She was great in Drive.
Have to agree with that!
Tough question. She’s one of my favorite actresses working today, but I think I enjoyed her most in An Education.
I never hated her roles, always managed to be lovable girl, even in Shame. Nice post!
Thanks Andina
