That first picture of him is giving me serious arm porn.. I don’t know if I can handle it… nope, I was right, I couldn’t handle it.
I like Renner, he seems like a nice guy and though I appreciate him in The Hurt Locker, I think he is an excellent guy for supportive roles. He just has that feeling. It’s not bad, but he just happens to suit those roles so well.
Hahaha, suddenly that makes me look at that picture in a whole different way π
I know what you mean, I prefer to see him in supporting roles as well…
Sometimes I come here.. just to look at those arms…mmmmmmm, arms.
I honestly don’t like him in anything outside of The Hurt Locker and find him so incredibly overrated π
And hideous.
Done rant.
Hahaha, well he is not an actor I choose out to see, but do not feel as strongly about him as you do π
Right now, American Hustle is my favorite performance from him so far. I think he just delivered while I love seeing him as Hawkeye. It’s amazing that he of all the people in that awful movie National Lampoon’s Senior Trip, w/ the exception of Kevin McDonald and Tommy Chong, as he would be the one to have some major success.
Yeah, he was good in that one and I liked him as Hawkeye as well. Never seen Senior Trip, but I can imagine it not being very good.
I find him incredibly overrated. Although, I did like him in American Hustle and The Avengers.
I guess i’ll go with American Hustle.
I don’t have the feeling he is mentioned a lot, so don’t think he is overrated (although I could be mistaken of course). American Hustle is a solid choice though, he was good in that.
My, what a sexy picture of Jeremy Renner you chose! Seriously, I’ve never thought of him as the most attractive guy, but wow. That first pic is nice.
I did not realise it would get reactions like yours! π Guess I have to keep that in mind when choosing a picture for future installments π
Only seen a few of his films but he’s never struck me as someone who can go beyond fairly simple characters. He plays the soldier role quite well without stretching himself. Not sure he has much range.
I think that might be a fair point, but I have not seen him in enough movies to completely agree.
Hi, Nostra and company:
Mr. Renner first caught my attention years ago in the independent film, ‘Dahlmer’. Where he was creepiness personified and laid bare the potential for future greatness.
More of a character actor and ensemble member right now. Though he was quite good in ‘The Hurt Locker’ and on ABC’s short lived, ‘The Unusuals’ in 2009. Mr.Renner needs to find the right role to romp, play and soar. And it looks like playing Hawkeye in ‘The Avengers’ may help him find it.
Thanks for your comment Jack. Have not seen him in that first movie, but knowing the story of the real guy I can imagine it requires a good performance. Think you are right about his current type of roles.
I think I would have to choose The Hurt Locker.
Great movie and he gave a solid performance
Those arms…
I think my favourite Renner role is actual Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. He was great at both the action and the funnier moments but benefitted from not being the star name in the film. I agree with mettelray – prefer him in the supporting roles.
Hahaha, funny to hear everyone mentioning the arms…I honestly did not notice when I picked that one.
