It’s the beginning of a new year which means it is time to look ahead and ask you the question I always do to kick the year off:
What are your movie/blogging resolutions for 2015?
I will set myself the following goals:
1. Watch at least 300 movies
2. Watch all the movies I’ve chosen for the 2015 Blindspot series
3. Finish my “Lost cinemas of Rotterdam” articles as I haven’t done a couple of them yet. I’ll have to admit this is the third time in a row I’ve set myself this goal. So I really have to work on this one to finally get it done
4. Update the blog to make it responsive (to make it better readable on phones and tablets)
5. Do at least three interviews
6. Start two new blogathons
7. Create my personal top 100 movies. I’ve been working on this on and off for some years now, but want to finally finish and publish it.
I usually don’t do any resolutions since I never live up to them. For me, I’ve listed my blog plans for 2015. Yet, there are 2 things I want to do for 2015: Watch a total of 500 films in the span of the year and to do a list of the best 150 films from 2000-2015 (that isn’t Lost in Translation). Then there’s another goal which is something that I want to experience. That is to watch a film in 70mm.
That’s an impressive list of plans you have got there on your blog. Watching 500 movies is crazy and I number I will not get close to 🙂
My goal is pretty simple…be more active on and off my blog, and in, write more and comment more everywhere else!
Well, looking forward to seeing you around even more 😉
1. Write More
2. Review films in my collection of Criterion Films
3. Review films in the festivals I am associated with
Very clear goals for the coming year Victor. Good luck with these!
My goals are really simple this year. I know that I’d never make 300 films, so I’m not setting a certain number (my unofficial goal is at least 150, but I hope to go way past that). I’ll definitely do the Blind Spots Series, but this will be my fourth year so isn’t a real achievement for me. What I really want to do is just watch more movies and write more (and better) about them. I’m hoping to get in better shape and be more active, but that’s a separate set of goals.
I think everyone wants to write better, it’s always a goal to improve for me as well.
Have fun with your resolutions Nostra! Look forward to your top 100 movies.
I intend to watch fewer movies and listen to less music actually 🙂 Because I want to get back to reading books(some of the time anyway)
Thank you Chris. I will try to get that top 100 out this year. Already working on some of my resolutions, so once those are out of the way I’ll attack the top 100 head on 🙂
Books is a different type of pace than music and movies. Enjoy it!
Posted my resolutions on the blog but they are to watch at least 103 movies (pitiful compared to you!), turn the blog into a .com (like yours), watch some classic movies and get them reviewed. Nothing too major and definitely poor compared to what you’re offering.
103 is a strange number, but that should be possible to do. Moving to a .com takes some preparing, but it is fairly easy. If you have any questions just let me know. I’ve moved two blogs so I might be able to give some pointers.
Everyone has their own goals, so don’t consider if its less poor. If I wasn’t travelling as much each day by train I wouldn’t be able to watch as many movies as I do each year.
Great resolutions, Nostra! I think that’s a great idea to work on your own person top 100 list. I ought to do something like that at some point.
Hope I’ll managed to do them all. I’ve started strong this weekend working on my lost cinemas of Rotterdam project. The top 100 I’ll probably start working on next month.
