It’s been a while since I started a new feature, but a week of vacation gave me a lot of new ideas of which this is one: Places. In this new feature (don’t know how regular it will be yet) I will look at a specific place out of the movies and give some background on it. I got the idea while revisiting The Godfather and when I saw the house of movie producer Jack Woltz in that movie I wanted to know more of the house, so that’s how the idea was born. So let’s take a look at the house.
Which movies
Jack Woltz (portrayed by John Marley) is the movie producer who does not want to cast the singer/actor Johnny Fontane in one of his movies, which would mean a boost for Fontane’s career. Consigliere pays Woltz a visit and is invited to visit him at his home. and when Woltz still refuses he finds out the hard way that you don’t say no to the Godfather and finds the head of his most prized horse with him in bed. Those interior shots though are not of the same mansion, but were actually filmed at Falaise, Sands Point Preserve in Long Island.
Besides appearing in The Godfather, it was also the house in which singer Rachel Marron, as portrayed by Whitney Houston, lived in the movie The Bodyguard (at least the exterior shots, the inside was shot somewhere else).
Other movies it was used in are Harper (1966), The Jerk (1979), Fletch (1985), Into the Night (1985)
The Place
The house is located on 1011 North Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills.
Great feature! 🙂
Thanks Fernando!
You’re welcome. I’m currently reading The Godfather and just two days ago I passed that infamous horse scene.
I like this as a feature as well. It seems like a lot of fun. I did a similar one-timer about some fancy homes in Newport Rhode Island – have a look:

AS a suggestion – how about Tony Montana’s gauche house in Scarface?
Great to hear those type of responses, which makes me want to do this even more. Will have a look at Montana’s house!
Oh wow. I love this feature. I’m really anxious to see what else you have for us next.
Thanks Keith…I don’t know yet, but I’m sure to come up with some interesting ones 😉
