Deep Cover (1992)

John Hull: How much is this?
Betty McCutcheon: Do you know anything about ethnic art? Have you ever been in a store like this? See, we don’t put price tags on our merchandise. So if you have to ask, then obviously you can’t afford it.
John Hull: In that case I’ll take two of them.

This is one of my favorite movie quotes. It comes from Deep Cover in which cop Russell Stevens (Laurence Fishburne) applies for a job as undercover cop. He becomes John Hull and his job is to infiltrate a drug cartel and get the right information in order to take down the big bosses who are running it. Of course he has to start at the bottom, which means street dealing in order to get attention from David Jason (Jeff Goldblum). Continue reading →

Split Second (1992)

London, an alternative 2008. Global warming has taken its toll and big parts of London have disappeared below the water. Rutger Hauer is Harley Stone, he’s a cop who lost his partner. He has been chasing his partner’s killer for a long while and he can sense when the killer is near. He likes to work alone (but as it usually goes in these type of movies) a new partner assigned to him. Harley doesn’t stop his search. The killer is still out there and when new murders occur they manage to get a lot closer to him. It turns out that the killer is not who they expect. Continue reading →

Johnny Stewart (Damon Wayans) and Seymour Stewart (Marlon Wayans) are two brothers who make their living as con men. They make up a new hustle and find a new victim to get their money. Unfortunately they are not always able to stay out of jail.
When Johny meets Amber Evans (Stacey Dash) he is immediately in love with her. In order to find the way to her heart he decides to get a normal job at the office where Ambers works. Continue reading →
