The world of movieblogs is an ever growing one. There are thousands of people who are passionate about films and who write about them with a lot of enthusiasm, love and passion on their blogs. But when do you know when you are a real movie blogger? Here are a couple of (not always serious) things which every movieblogger will recognise. Continue reading

The Monday Question: Design!
As you have probably noticed I have done an update to the look of the site. Through the couple of years I have been blogging it is not the first time I have made changes (probably the 4th or 5th time) as I felt the logos needed updating. I hope you like the new look and it made me wonder:
How regularly do you make changes to your blog design?

Announcing the Life, Love and the Movies blogathon
After having lots of fun with the 5 Obstructions blogathon last year it was time to start a new blogathon. Together with Karamel Kinema (who is responsible for the awesome logos) we want invite you to participate in the Life, Love and the Movies blogathon. As you can probably guess it is about your connection to movies.
What do you need to do?
The Monday Question: Old posts!
As a blogger you write a lot of posts. Posts you put a lot of time in and which are usually only read the first week they are published (with a few exceptions of course). I get all new blog posts of the blogs I follow automatically sent to my mailbox and it can sometimes take a while before I read them. Looking at the dates of the comments it confirms this and I usually feel like I’m (very) late to the party.
It made me wonder:
How often do you check out older posts a blogger has written?
The Monday Question: Holiday!
With the summer months having started, it is that time of the year that a lot of people are finally are taking their time off. This week’s my question is a simple one:
If you go on holiday, do you also take a break from blogging?
Personally I will be planning some posts during my time away, but I will be checking in occasionally if time allows it.
The Monday Question: Social!
Last week Twitter opened up their analytics to the general public. The site basically allows you to see how many times you were mentioned, retweeted, if you were followed and unfollowed and the most interesting one, how many times a link you tweeted was clicked. I must admit I am not someone who is extremely active on social networks (although I have a twitter and facebook account for the blog), but looking at the statistics for the clicks I was surprised how little they were used. I used to have social sharing buttons on my blog, but when I found out nobody seemed to be using them I removed them. Now I don’t think I will stop posting to either Twitter or Facebook yet but it did make me wonder about their effectiveness. This week’s question:
Do you use social media for your blog and do you notice the benefit of them?
As featured on… Head in a Vice
What movies would you take with you if you knew in advance you’d be stuck on a desert island for a long while? That’s the question Tyson from Head in a Vice regularly asks fellow bloggers. Today the honour falls upon me and I had a hard time picking the movie to pack, but after much consideration I made my choices. Click on the image above to check them out.
