Chef’s Table (2015) – Season 1

Review Chef's Table

The speed at which new shows appear on Netflix can make it hard to keep up with it all. I regularly notice that I have hardly finished one show and the next “Netflix originals” series is already available. Most of them are fictional shows, but with Chef’s Tabel Netflix has release a documentary series. The first season consists of six episodes and each one focusses on one chef and his/her restaurant, including their specialities. Continue reading

The Monday Question: Food in movies!

This week’s question might be quite a strange one, but it’s one based on food in movies. When watching movies there are always scenes of people eating or a character always wanting to eat something specific. When I watched Zombieland one character stood out when it came to food, the one Woody Harrelson was playing. He had an obsession with Twinkies. Since the product ceased production it seemed that the product would never be made anymore and it seemed a case of fiction turned into reality. Although production has begun again that movie made me wonder what Twinkies tasted like. They aren’t sold over here but when I was at the airport last week I saw a box of Twinkies and just had to buy it to find out. Turns out that they aren’t very tasty as all, so I was quite disappointed.

Which movie food has disappointed you when you tried it?

Since today is my birthday I have decided to give myself a week off and enjoy some other things, so don’t expect any other posts this week. Will be back next Monday!

Forks Over Knives (2011)

Sometimes there are documentaries that make you think about something you are doing yourself and possibly manage to change your behavior. An Inconvenient Truth did that with a lot of people and personally Collapse was a movie which impressed me a lot and was on my mind for a long time. Forks over Knives to me is another one of those documentaries that should be seen. It focuses on our food and the relationship it might have with the most common diseases like cancer and high cholesterol. It makes you think:

Would you rather change what you eat with your fork or prefer going under the knife because you didn’t? Continue reading

The Monday Question: Eat!

When you say moviefood, the first thing most people will think of will be popcorn. It’s history has been long, with the first popcorn being made 3600 BC in New Mexico. As cinema came into existence it became popular to eat while at the movies (also because it hardly makes any sound as you eat it). Movie theatres expanded their selection and now there is a lot of choice of what to eat and drink while at the movies. Today’s Monday question is:

What is your snack of choice when going to the movies? Continue reading
