There are way too little science fiction movies coming out each year and as a big fan of them I’m always looking forward to new ones. Through the years Oscar winner Nicholas Cage has slowly seemed to have lost his focus when it comes to starring in amazing movies. A lot of people are disappointed in a lot of his later movies, but personally I’m a big fan and usually watch anything he’s in, even know if I know in advance what I’m going into. As we are quickly approaching another weekend, for which I hope you have some cool things planned, it’s that time of the week for a new installment of the Friday Faces. This week’s actor is Guy Pearce. This Australian actor has an impressive list of movies to his name. Before he started his acting career he was a competitive amateur bodybuilder. He started acting in the theatre and slowly gained fame by appearing as Mike Young in the Australian soap opera Neighbours. In 1994 he starred in The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert which meant his big break after which he appeared in big movies like Memento, L.A. Confidential and the Hurt Locker. After the death of his mother teenager Joshua Cody (James Frecheville) is forced to move in with his grandmother, Janine “Smurf” Cody (Jacki Weaver).
She lives together with her three sons, who are all criminals and suspected of various criminal activities like armed robberies and dealing drugs. The police is constantly keeping an eye on them.
