Paul Giamatti was born on June 6th, 1967 in New Haven, Connecticut. As he was growing up he attended Yale University and was already acting in theater. He got his bachelor’s degree in English and decided to go to the Yale School of Drama where he got a Master of Fine Arts degree. He started his career in a lot of theatrical productions (also on Broadway) and made the move to TV and film in the nineties. He became well known through his roles in American Splendor and Sideways. Mike Flaherty (Paul Giamatti) is a lawyer who has some trouble keeping his law firm profitable. He hardly gets any new clients and when he sees an opportunity with a client to suddenly get a steady monthly payment he decides to make some decisions which will come back to haunt him. The result of this is that the grandson of the client, Kyle (Alex Shaffer), suddenly appears who has run away from home. Mike is forced to take care of him and try to solve the mess he created.
