The Watch (2012)

After watching the very dark Ill Manors I really was in the need for a lighter movie and looking at the movies that were playing at the cinema directly after it I decided to see The Watch. It’s got Ben Stiller in it, so I expected it to provide a funny hour and a half. I had not read reviews of it, so went in completely blind. Was my gamble a waste of time or well worth it? Albert Nobbs (2011)

Albert Nobbs review

As you know I usually go into the movies without knowing anything about it. Albert Nobbs was part of a preview festival I went to and apart from a thumbnail of the poster I went in blank. No idea what it was about and who played in it. When the movie started I saw the name Glenn Close show up on the screen and although it vaguely rang a bell I really couldn’t think of a face that matched the name. Carnage (2011)

Carnage review

Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, John C. Reilly and Christopher Waltz star in this movie about parents who meet to talk about a fight that happened between their kids. Cop out (2010)

The thing that is special about this movie is that it’s the first movie where he did not write the story himself. Is this a movie which you can not miss or is it a movie only for the Kevin Smith fans? Continue reading

What’s up, Tiger Lilly? (1966)

The movie Kung Pow is one of my favourite comedies (besides the Apatow movies, Dumb and Dumber, Coming to America and Trading Places). The concept of the movie is that they took an old chines kung fu flick, had one person dub it really badly and edit him into the movie. You either love or hate Kung Pow, there is no middle ground. Expect no logical story and very stupid, but because of it, very funny jokes.
Kung Pow was the reason i started searching for other movies which were made using the same concept and ended up with What’s up, Tiger Lilly. Continue reading
