The original Alien movie is a masterpiece, which I’ve awarded a 10. I liked it so much because of the tense situation the crew of the Nostromo ends up in. The spaceship was made up of narrow corridors and an unknown enemy that was slowly taking out all crew members. Ghostbusters 2 (1989)
After the success and popularity of the original Ghostbusters, it was a logical choice to make a sequel. At the start of this second movie it’s clear that the popularity of the Ghostbusters is not at the same anymore when compared to the end of the first movie. There are no ghost sightings anymore and the Ghostbusters are forced to show up for kids parties to make a living. But even the kids think they are boring.
As this setup would result in a very dull film and this movie is about ghostbusters, it’s no surprise that there supernatural things start happening again, which allows the iconic quartet to get back to work. Continue reading
