The Monday Question: Write!

During my holidays in Norway I had two weeks where I was disconnected from everything. So I didn’t watch that many movies, couldn’t read the latest news and didn’t have an internet connection. I realised during that time that I really didn’t miss it all that much (well, except for watching movies of course). That disconnect seems to have had an effect on me as I currently don’t feel the need to blog as strongly as I did before. I enjoy doing it, but if I don’t for a couple of days I’m fine with that as well. I’m not planning on stopping anytime soon (maybe I’ll write a bit less), but it made me wonder:

Do you ever think about taking a break/stop blogging?

The Monday Question: Format!

It’s time to finally return to the normal schedule of things again, which means we start the week with a question to get those brain cells fired up again. This week I was thinking about the way we watch movies. Of course the perfect way to see them would be in the cinema on the big screen, but since there are no on demand cinemas where you can just go watch any movie you’d like you will have to settle seeing it on another much smaller screen. This week’s question is:

Do you think the format in which you watch a movie can change your appreciation/score of it? Continue reading

The Monday Question: Location!

The weekend has gone and for most of us the working week has started again. Hope you had a great time and did fun things. Maybe you watched the Olympics or just enjoyed the wheather. Whatever you did, I’m happy you now tuned in to my blog and are ready to answer this week’s Monday question!

The locations where movies are shot can be very interesting, especially if it is a place you know or happen to go to. So this week’s question is:

Did you ever visit locations where a movie was shot? Continue reading

The Monday Question: Writing!

Hope you all have had a great weekend filled with fun stuff. Mine was a nice and relaxing one and for this week’s Monday question I decided not to ask a question about movies, but about your creative process when it comes to writing about them:

What is your creative process like when creating new blog posts (and how do you make sure to remain inspired)? Continue reading

The Monday Question: No Movies!

It won’t come as a big surprise that as a movie blogger movies are a big part of my life. I probably average close to one movie a day and spent lots of time reading and writing about them. Which made me wonder what my life would be like if there were no movies. I’m sure I would have another hobby I would spend lots of time on.

So this week’s question:
What would you do with your time if there were no movies? Continue reading

The Monday Question: Parents!

It’s been a hectic weekend for me, making sure that my daughter’s first birthday went smoothly. Have to say that my first year as a father has been amazing. Just unbelievable how quickly children grow!

It got me thinking about the way you influence what children will like as they grow up. It made me wonder about my own parents and my love for movies, which resulted in the following Monday Question:

In which way did your parents influence your love for movies? Continue reading

The Monday Question: Space!

Having seen Prometheus fairly recently, I started thinking about all the space missions I’ve seen in movies and I came to a pretty grim conclusion: They usually don’t end well for those on it. It made me think about something and I’d be very interested in knowing your answers:
If you had to go on a space journey, which movie spacecraft crew would you join? Continue reading

The Monday Question: Classics!

I have to admit something. There are some classic or well loved movies I only checked out for the first time in the last two years. Whether it’s something like the first two Alien movies, A Clockwork Orange or Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Predator. I never checked them out in the years before. Some of them I didn’t see when I was young was simple, because I wasn’t allowed to see them and because my parents never watched many movies, but as I got older I still didn’t.

I have been very busy catching up, but I regularly read someone on another blog mention a “classic” movie I have not seen. With so many movies available I don’t blame myself for doing so, but it’s annoying when you can’t join the conversation because of it. With the recently started director’s relay race I realise there are a lot of directors I never saw any work from.

This week’s Monday question:
Which classic movies haven’t you seen, but do you think you should? Continue reading

The Monday Question: Bad rewatch!

It’s Monday and you know what that means, time for a new Monday Question. This past week I rewatched a movie I hadn’t seen in years and liked a lot when I was younger. Seeing it again made me realise it was pretty bad, but still there is one reason I like to rewatch it. This week’s question:

Do you sometimes rewatch a bad movie because of a specific scene or character? Continue reading
