I think we all watch movies to be entertained and/or lose ourselves in another world, when and wherever it may be set. We want to be moved by them. When a movie actually manages to do this in a profound way we appreciate it and recognise those movies as classics. Today I want to focus on one of those emotions, the one that makes tears come from your eyes. Of course this can be because a movie is funny, sad or just wowed you. Today’s Monday Question: What’s the last movie that made tears well up in your eyes? Continue reading

The Monday Question: Franchise!
There a couple of things certain in life: Death, taxed and movie franchises. Through the years I’ve read a lot of complaints that Hollywood isn’t putting out enough original material and is constantly making sequels. Personally I really don’t have this issue as there are enough great movies coming out each year and when I’m not interested in a franchise anymore I simply don’t watch it. Which brings me to this week’s question:
Which movie franchises did you give up on and why did you do so? Continue reading
The Monday Question: Company!
As a movie blogger I watch a lot of movies each year and I mostly do so alone. Most of my movie watching is done on the go (on the way to work and home), so I generally don’t share the experience with others. Of course I love it when you are in a crowded cinema and you have a shared experience, but to be honest I don’t think that happens often and really would be perfectly fine in an empty theater. Now today’s question is:
When it comes to watching movies do you do so mostly alone or with others? Continue reading
The Monday Question: Requirements!
Recently I met up with a couple of friends and of course the subject of movies came up. Among my friends I’m the one who watches most, so they asked for some suggestions. Now it’s getting harder to suggest something to them as my taste is a bit broader than theirs, which means I sometimes have to warn them they might not like it.
It ended up in one of them listing a short list of requirements before he would decide to watch a movie. Including not watching something if it had a score lower than a 7 on IMDB. Of course I think that way you might miss out on some entertaining movies, but to each his own.
So today’s question is:
How do you decide which movies you will watch? Continue reading
The Monday Question: Replace!
Some time ago I did a short article on actors who turned down big movie roles. You can only imagine what those movies would look like. It got me thinking of the situation who I would choose if I was able to make the casting calls. So this week’s Monday question is:
If you could change actors/actresses in a movie, which actors would you replace? Continue reading
The Monday Question: Mixup!
It’s Monday again and you know what that means, time for a new Monday Question. Now when it comes to movies there is one thing you need to be able to talk about it. Its title. But if you are like me you might sometimes associate a movie name with a whole other movie, resulting in some strange conversations. This week’s question: Do you ever mixup movies/movie names? Continue reading
The Monday Question: Rest!
Another weekend has passed us and a fresh new week is about to start again. Hope you all had a great weekend and enjoyed yourself. Today the weekly question is about something which probably has happened to all of us. You are really excited to see a movie, get ready to go but when you are at the cinema you suddenly notice that your body doesn’t have the same plans as you do, causing you to start missing the movie. Today’s question is:
Did you ever fall asleep in the cinema? Continue reading
The Monday Question: Movietalk!
If you love movies you also usually like talking about it or knowing the opinion of someone else (otherwise you wouldn’t be visiting My Filmviews). I am exactly the same and one of the great ways to hear more about movies is to check out some podcasts. There are a couple of them which get me trhough my working week. So this week’s question is:
What are your favorite podcasts? Continue reading
The Monday Question: Eat!
When you say moviefood, the first thing most people will think of will be popcorn. It’s history has been long, with the first popcorn being made 3600 BC in New Mexico. As cinema came into existence it became popular to eat while at the movies (also because it hardly makes any sound as you eat it). Movie theatres expanded their selection and now there is a lot of choice of what to eat and drink while at the movies. Today’s Monday question is:
What is your snack of choice when going to the movies? Continue reading
The Monday Question: Resolutions!
Happy new year everyone! Hope you had a great time celebrating the start of the new year. A lot of people usually make resolutions for the new year (and not everyone manages to reach them). Today’s question:
What are your movie related resolutions for the new year? Continue reading
