No matter what sites you visit, but I think chances are small that you haven’t heard of The Pirate Bay. The site is well-known for providing links (torrents) to a lot of illegal material, whether that’s movies, games or applications. Chances are that if you are looking for something you are able to get your hands on it there. Because of this very easy acces, the site has been a steady target for the entertainment industry, who has tried to shut it down. In the Netherlands they were succesful as various providers had to block the site. This documentary isn’t really about the site itself (it doesn’t really go into it much and there is a reason it’s called “Away from Keyboard”), but more about the people behind it. These are Gottfrid Svartholm, Peter Sunde and Fredrik Neij and this movie shows their the court case against them, including their personal struggles. Continue reading →
